Cranium and Cake
Steak, potatoes, and corn, Oh My!
We killed the fatted calf for Kimmie's bday dinner. Dr. Catfish joined in the fun.
We are currently resting and making room for the chocolate cake and home made cherry-vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was the topic of an in-house physics/chemistry lesson, facilitated by Jordan, as Dr. Catfish pondered why we add salt and how that could lower the temperature of the ice cream maker. Liam was quick at the keys looking up information, and Jordan and Kimmie worked to explain the mysteries of physics. Me? I just want the ice cream to finish up!
Steaks were delicious! If I do say so myself!!

Happy 3rd of July
I've often thought that time takes on a unique characteristic here in northern Utah. It seems like Logan is caught back in time...20 years ago or so. I wonder if this time disturbance is the cause of the annual Fourth of July Fireworks being held on that most auspicious of holidays, the Third of July. Or maybe it's to honor a certain Port Townsend Birthday Girl! (Happy Birthday!)
We were out and about this morning, and people had blankets and lawn chairs set up all over the north end of town. They leave their belongings there until the firework show starts, and amazingly, no one takes, moves, disturbs, or otherwise messes with other's stuff! It is actually quite refreshing, and again plays to that theme of a time gone by here in Logan.
Rick, Liam and I are venturing forth the the stadium for the show - my first time ever! We usually watch from our home, but this year we will celebrate with a sea of humanity. Kimmie and Jordan have opted for a at-home tribute, most likely involving a gaming system of one sort or another.

One year annivesary
A year ago today Dad died. Here's what their graves look like today. I guess my brother and sister's husband don't think they need grave markers (even though this would have been very important to my parents). Sometimes I miss my dad. Today was a hard day. I was afraid to go to their graves, because I have an irrational fear that my brother's older sister's husband might be lurking. Rick, Kimmie, and Liam went along to protect me. It was very sad to see this...dead flowers tossed on the ground, a broken plastic and paper marker for Dad. I'm pretty sure Estella has been visiting them. Saint Estella.

blogger blues
We are visually impaired here in Logan. I finally got my computer back from the shop, but still can't upload images with Safari and can't access the Internet with Firefox....so text only posts for now! Even Mac Genius Jordan (MGJ) can't figure out what's wrong. A sad, sad day for me.
