Getting ready!!

New water shoes for Betty and flip flops! A UV protection long sleeved shirt for Rick. Shorts gone through, clothing identified (clothing even donated in this process) - we are getting close!

A new mat for the tramp!

Liam is very exited, but not really into helping with the work. Removing the old mat and adding the new one takes lots of arm strength. Rick and Jordan are kind enough to pitch in, while Liam has more important duties to address...

Tacos, Ailments, and Socks

La Familia has tacos on sale for the entire month! Tonight we had tacos, enchiladas, and burritos for Jordan and Billy. Yum!

Tomorrow is Jordan's last day of school, and I have a feeling Tandoori Oven is in our future for lunch. Double Yum! Hopefully Jordan will be feeling better. He went to bed super early tonight, with gastrointestinal ailments.

Here's the sock progress. A different kind of heel. I'm nearly ready to do the tow. I'll have extra of this yarn, so I'm thinking socks are in Kimmie's future!!

Rick's Birthday

Today is Rick's Birthday! Happy Birthday Ricky!

Pre-frogged Sock and Post-frogged socks

Here's a picture of the sock on my foot....way too big, so I frogged it! You can see that the needles are well past my toes, and I had quite a bit of decreasing left to do.

The next picture shows the newly started sock (tadpole??). I'm using a pattern generated by a sock calculator this time! this one will have a shorter cuff, all ribbed.

Spring Deluge

So much for working in the yard today! A long, heavy rain is upon us! On the bright side, everything is nice and green.

"Aloha Pork"

In the spirit of our friends not currently on the mainland, I made "Aloha Pork" tonight. Of course, I modified the recipe. Here's Rick, as he prepares to chow down.

Socks

I'm thinking I'll rip out the sock....it's way too big! I'll get a photo before I start ripping...then will use the nifty link Sandy gave me for fitted socks! The pleasure for me is in the doing, so ripping is not an unpleasant thing (although tedious as I ball up the yarn again!!)

Surviving, barely, without Kimmie

Sigh. Had to make our own dinner again. Curried Chicken...not as good as Kimmie's cooking. No photos, but it is all gone!

The nice warm weather has encouraged the basil to sprout. Can you say PESTO! Or Spicy Chicken Eggplant Basis Goodness??

Sock Progress

Thanks to some great YouTube tutorials, I figured out how to turn the heel and join the gusset. I'm on the foot portion now! I have no idea if these will be in a wearable size, but it's great fun making them.

Weeds, Water, Wild and Wacky

A sunny and warm day in Logan! I weeded this morning, and Liam and three of his friends are currently running around the house, soaking wet. They are having a "water party" and it sounds like they are having fun. I'm not sure what the mess was in Jordan's bathroom....but I'm sure I'll find out. The grill is heating up - getting ready for burgers and dogs. Photos to follow!

Practically Perfect

We finally have some nice weather. Sunny with a few puffy clouds - practically perfect. I spent a few minutes of my last day of vacation (not counting the weekend) on the swing, knitting my sock, listening to the birds and Hawaiian music (from inside the house) and wishing I had a few more weeks of vacation! This is the view from the swing. The photo doesn't show it, but you can see the yellow wildflowers on the mountain.

I started some socks yesterday. I've never knitted socks....we'll see what happens when I hit the heel!

Tuesday and iPhoto

Turns out iPhoto duplicates every photo you edit - just in case you wish to revert! You also are not supposed to muck with your photos in Finder, as this messes with iPhoto. At least, when you delete, you really delete. I'll master those photos yet.

Another day of putzing. Cloudy and cool. Sweater weather. Not like the weather in Hilo!

Jordan had no one but Patrick to cheer him on during Kingdom Hearts today.  Meanwhile, I tried my hand at creating a new shade cover for the swing. Liam and I watched crazy You Tube videos.  Rick took care of finances.
